The hydrogen-powered four-seater features electric motors at each wheel and an advanced lithium-sulfur battery pack. The motors deliver continuous output of 228 horsepower and peak output of 308 hp, as well as combined torque in excess of 400 pound-feet. There is sufficient power to propel the F125! from zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds, with top speed capped at 137 mph.
Mercedes-Benz says the theoretical range is 621 miles, with a fuel-economy equivalent of more than 80 mpg.
The F125! is made of lightweight carbon and fiber-reinforced plastic, combined with high-strength steel and aluminum. It features two massive gullwing doors.
The vehicle's main controls and cloud-based infotainment system are operated primarily by natural touch and speech, as well as intuitive hand gestures. Interior displays use 3D and projector-beam technology, while the next-gen networked telematics enable Internet-based voice control, integration into social media and extensive remote control of vehicle settings and entertainment functions via smartphone.
Mercedes also put a lot of thought into future safety and driver-assistance systems. The F125! features Advanced Driving Assist, a semi-autonomous driving system that is capable of executing lane changes on multilane one-way roads, as well as automatic overtaking maneuvers.
