At the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, Skoda, the Czech affiliate of the Volkswagen Group, unveiled the MissionL, a "design concept" that previews a new global compact sedan called Lauretta that will be launched later this year in India, followed in 2012 by rollouts in China, Russia and Europe.
Skoda Chairman Winfried Vahland said the company is "going to present a new car approximately every six months over the next few years" to help bolster its target of reaching 1.5 million vehicle sales a year by 2018.
Few details about the MissionL were disclosed, other than an oblique reference to the car's "clean, minimalistic lines" and "youthful and contemporary appearance."
